Tasting - "Fish Eye"

Name: Fish Eye
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: South Eastern
Country: Australia
Year: 2014
Price: $7.95

Winery Review: "Cherry and blackberry with a hint of pepper on the nose..."

My Review: Delicious! I am already bias because I love cabernet sauvignon, but I love this wine! You can really taste the cherry and blackberry. It has a delicious smell that I can't really pin down to exactly what. I also love how it is only $8! I love this wine and love the price even more! I did not eat with this wine.

Tasting - "Gnarly Head"

Name: Gnarly Head
Variety: Merlot
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2013
Price: $9

Winery Review: "There is a full frontal attack of crushed black berry fruits, concentrated jammy and even slightly spicy cassis, blackberry sorbet, soft, balanced tannins and a really lovely juicy mouth-feel. The midpalate is solid showing good backbone, and the lingering finish is a testament to skilled winemaking using top quality fruit, with just a touch of black licorice, black cherry and allspice remaining on the palate after 20-plus seconds."

My Review: I really liked this wine. I would say it is my favorite merlot that I have tasted so far. It had a very berry taste. Kinda like a blackberry juicy taste. It left a very full flavor in my mouth. I was a little stuffed up so I wasn't able to smell all of the aromas that I wanted to. I had this wine with 2 day old pizza. The pizza was really bad, but the wine was delicious!

Tasting - "Wood Bridge"

Name: Wood Bridge
Variety: Malbec
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2014
Price: $13.95

Winery Review: "Our medium-bodied Woodbridge Malbec is an easily drinkable wine, with robust tannins and juicy fruit notes of black cherries and blueberries. Elements of spicy pepper complement its fruitiness and provide balance. With strong flavors of plum, blackberries and vanilla, this wine is a great match for rich meat dishes. Consider pairing it with spicy empanadas or smoky cured meats to start, followed by more substantial entrees such as beef stew, carne asada tacos or lamb chops."

My Review: I enjoyed this wine as well. I usually enjoy any red wines that I consume. This wine had a great after taste and went down very smoothly. Had a lot of berry taste (blackberries & blueberries). I ate fish with this wine. The fish really complemented the wine and tasted great with it.

Tasting - "Yellow Tail"

Name: Yellow Tail
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Casella
Country: Australia
Year: 2015
Price: $9.99

Winery Review: Blackberry, chocolate and luscious vanilla aromas. This full-bodied wine shows bold fruit flavors and mild spice.

My Review: Yellow Tail is a nice wine if you are feeling cheap. They are usually on sale in stores and come in 1.5L bottles for only $10! I really like the Cabernet Sauvignon. I have bought this wine multiple times. It has a nice fruity flavor but isn't too sweet. It also has a type of chocolate after taste. I had this wine with chips, the chips didn't do much of anything; I was just hungry.

Tasting - "La Marca"

Name: La Marca
Variety: Prosecco (D.O.C. Sparking Wine)
Region: Trevisio
Country: Northern Italy
Year: 2014
Price: $13.99

Winery Review: This sparkling wine is pale, golden straw in color. Bubbles are full textured and persistent. On the nose the wine brings fresh citrus with hints of honey and white floral notes. The flavor is fresh and clean, with ripe citrus, lemon, green apple, and touches of grapefruit, minerality, and some toast. The finish is light, refreshing, and crisp.

My Review: I've had prosecco before and I love it. It has a nice citrus after tone with a crisp taste. This bottle is perfect to use for making mimosas. I bought this bottle and my friend bought orange juice. It was a delicious mimosa. I recommend this bottle to anyone trying to wake up Sunday morning and have a delicious mimosas with breakfast/brunch.

Tasting - "Apothic Crush"

Variety: Smooth Red Blend
Region: California
Country: USA

Price: $10.99

Winery Review: The first taste entices, stimulating the senses. The next taste ignites, arousing the passion. A decadent red blend that combines red fruit flavors with notes of caramel and a velvety smooth mouth-feel.

My Review: I really loved this wine! I am big red wine drinker and this really got my taste-buds going. It had a normal red taste at first but after i swished it around in my mouth the flavor exploded! It had a very smooth taste while also having a blast of fruit flavors. I had a piece of cheddar cheese with this wine; it complemented it very well.

Name: Banfi Piemonte Rosa Regale
Variety: 100% Brachetto Sparkling Red
Region: Piedmont
Country: Italy
Year: 2014

Winery Review: Color. Festive cranberry. Bouquet: Aromatic with hints of raspberries, strawberries and rose petals. Taste: Fresh raspberries, with crisp acidity, enticing the palate with an initial softness, graduating to a clean and dry finish.

My Review: I did not enjoy this wine. It was very sweet and tasted like juice. It tasted like a combination of apple and grape juice. I would not recommend this wine to people who like a bitter wine. I did not eat with this wine.
